She’s always making something with her hands and her heart.

“I do oil painting, crocheting, baking and whatever comes up that I enjoy,” says Pauline. “It really pleases me to make things and give them to people.”

Craftsy her entire life, Pauline moved to Good Samaritan and quickly embraced the freedom of senior living. Without the responsibilities of home maintenance and upkeep, she’s gained something invaluable – more time to do what she loves.

“My apartment is always a mess because I have my activities out, but that’s OK,” Pauline says.

Whether she’s arranging flowers, embroidering or baking fresh bread, no two days look the same. Recently, she crocheted an entire box of handmade dish rags for her niece – just because she could.

Pauline also enjoys the sense of connection that comes with community living. Welcoming neighbors and scheduled activities make it easy to stay social, uplifted and engaged.

“Everybody’s very friendly,” says Pauline. “We did a craft with these little brushes where we added a nose and a hat. It was really fun.”

Senior living offers the best of both worlds: meaningful community and quick access to everyday needs. Pauline loves being close to her doctor and appreciates how simple life feels compared to maintaining a house on her own.

“Everything is easier here,” Pauline says.

And with fewer worries, Pauline’s imagination has room to roam – dreaming up her next project, one stitch or brushstroke at a time.

“I find different things that I enjoy. I just keep myself busy,” she says.
